- Installation Log
-
- This document explains the settings that Brightmail changed in your
- email client during installation, including information on returning
- those settings to their original values.
- <#include POP_INFO>
-
- Brightmail changed only the settings for your incoming email server--the
- POP server. This is the server you use to retrieve your email. Brightmail
- changed the POP server and POP account names, allowing Brightmail
- to act as a filter between the Internet and your email inbox.
-
- Brightmail did not change the settings for your outgoing email
- server--the SMTP server. This is the server you use to send your email.
-
- RETURNING EMAIL SETTINGS TO ORIGINAL VALUES (DISCONTINUING THE BRIGHTMAIL
- SERVICE):
-
- You can discontinue using Brightmail at any time by changing your local
- email settings to their original values.
-
- If you downloaded the Brightmail setup tool, you can use the UnInstall
- utility. From your Windows taskbar, choose Start | Programs | Bright Mail |
- UnInstall. The utility automatically returns your email settings to their
- original values.
-
- If you manually changed your local email settings, you must modify these
- settings in your email program. In most email programs, these settings
- can be changed in a Preferences, Settings, Options, or Accounts dialog.
